Turn Your Trash into Treasure

Our consumption is at an all-time high and all that leads to amazing amounts of trash to get rid of. Repurposing some of the things you were about to throw away could save room in dumpsters and at landfills. Instead of throwing away used or unwanted items, why not transform them into something new and useful? I have some ideas for you to turn everyday waste into treasure.

1. Glass Jars and Bottles

Glass jars and bottles often pile up in recycling bins here are some cool ideas for reusing them:

• Candle Holders: Fill empty jars with stones or sand then place a small candle inside.
• Herb Garden: Cut plastic bottles in half and use the bottom section for soil and plants.
• Storage Containers: Cleaned-out jars make excellent storage for all sorts of small things.

2. Old Clothes

Don't throw out worn-out or outdated clothing give them a fresh start:

• T-shirt Tote Bags: Transform old T-shirts into reusable bags by just cutting off the sleeves and stitching up the bottom.
• Patchwork Quilts: Sew scraps of old material into a colorful quilt.
